In 1973 Mike and Sue Norton purchased the last remaining Saddlery business in Oxford,
C. H. BROWN & SON, which was established in 1890.
As the business developed, Mike became very much involved in the design of saddles, their manufacture and repair and it soon became apparent that more room was required for this aspect of the business. In 1997 a new stockroom and workshop was set up away from the city centre providing easy access to the Oxford ring road.

The Wexford
The Wexford is a deep seated jumping saddle, similar to the GP range, offering a wider seat for comfort than most traditional jump saddles. With large supporting knee and thigh blocks for the ultimate in rider security. Extra forward flap option for the taller riders.

The Richochet
The Ricochet is an amalgamation of our two most popular jumping saddles, the Quantum and the Wexford.
It has a low profile square cantled seat and the aesthetic continental close-contact look sort after in the jumping world especially with the Hunter Jumpers, with the added benefit of wool flocking.
The panel and tree combination lends itself to many high wither profiles from hunt horses, thoroughbred eventers through to some of the more modern warmblood jumpers.

Classic Canes
A British 'walking stick' is usually a relatively simple stick used for everyday support or country walks. A 'cane' is a more formal, elegant item that is as much an accessory as a means of support. Different terms are used in different countries. Many Americans reverse the descriptions, so that a 'cane' is the everyday, functional object, and a 'walking stick' the smarter version.
Many people become avid collectors of walking sticks, and are correctly known as ambulists. Famous ambulists have included George VI, Queen Victoria, The Duke of Windsor (Edward VIII), President Washington, Napoleon, Peter the Great and King Tutankhamun. Another keen ambulist, Louis XIV of France, forbade all his subjects bar the aristocracy to use walking sticks because he regarded them as a symbol of power. In more modern times, prominent walking stick users have included Prince Charles, the flamboyant celebrity boxer, Chris Eubank, and the elegant British fashion designer, Betty Jackson CBE. Other celebrities to have been seen with Classic Canes walking sticks include the comedian Dawn French and the singers Cleo Laine and Dame Vera Lynn.
